ELECTRIFICATION. Theron, the manufacturer of the Reever electric ATV, launched a socio-financing campaign a few days ago on La Ruche Mauricie, aiming to raise $12,000.
"We're just about to enter our production phase, and a few improvements to our facilities are essential. The first significant objective of $12,000 will be used to obtain tools to optimize our performance," explains Philippe Lafontaine, Head of Design and Marketing at Theron.
The Shawinigan-based manufacturer is soliciting contributors, and depending on the amounts donated, privileges are granted to donors. These range from an invitation to the unveiling of the first Reever at Le Temps d'une Pinte microbrewery in spring 2022 ($30) to a test drive of the electric vehicle ($100), as well as the purchase of Theron-branded promotional items (sweater, cap, beer, etc.).
Entrepreneurs are also being solicited in this campaign. For $450, it will be possible to have access to the limited pre-order of the Reever Black Edition with custom accessories designed in the image of the contributing company. Bronze ($750), Silver ($1200) and Gold ($2500) levels have also been created, with various advantages linked to the visibility of contributing companies during the promotional campaign that Theron will be putting forward in 2022 throughout Quebec.
Since a report in L'Hebdo this summer, Theron has stepped up its visits to potential customers, with very promising results, says Philippe Lafontaine. "For pre-orders, we've already reached 2023 for deliveries. We have accumulated many during our summer of trials and trade shows. We're currently expanding and will begin our expansions in the spring of 2022."
Theron also intends to unveil sporty winter content soon. Currently, the Reever comes in four versions available for pre-order: 2-wheel drive and 90 km range; 4-wheel drive and 80 km range; 2-wheel drive and 180 km range; and 4-wheel drive and 160 km range. It's this last model that will equip the Black Edition luxury version, available for pre-order via La Ruche Mauricie, which will be delivered with customized signature accessories.
Incubated at Shawinigan's Centre d'entrepreneuriat Alphonse-Desjardins (CEADS), Theron is not exluding the need to relocate, given the faster-than-expected progression of its pre-orders to date. "Until autumn 2022, we're okay, but we're preparing for this eventuality and we're in discussions with the City of Shawinigan," concludes the head of design and marketing.
