The belt drive ensures low maintenance, quiet operation and minimal stretching. If your needs require it, you can opt for chain drive when configuring your Reever.
The Reever is designed to last. Its estimated lifespan is 15 years, or 100,000 km.
Charging time on a j1772 terminal is 1.5 hours for Reever level 1 and 3 hours for Reever level 2.
Our vehicles are proudly made in Canada, with the vast majority of components sourced in North America. Only 15% of our off-road vehicle components are sourced internationally.
We manufacture our PowerEDGE chassis and REEVOLT batteries in house. This gives us unrivalled quality control over critical performance components.
Complete assembly is carried out in our factory with Canadian manufacturing and engineering expertise.
Our mechatronics and electrical development team is made of qualified engineers, university graduates and off-road vehicle manufacturing veterans, all working to North American quality standards. We build the world's best electric quad using a hybrid production model of automation and experienced hand assembly. Our products are Transport Canada approved.
Theron follows the ISO9001 quality management protocol by the book. ISO 9001 is an international standard that sets out requirements for a quality management system (QMS). It is used to manage quality effectively and has improved our overall performance.
ISO 9001 is based on seven quality management principles: customer orientation, leadership, employee involvement, process approach, continuous improvement, factual approach to decision making, and mutually beneficial relationships with suppliers.
To achieve ISO 9001 certification, Theron had to implement a quality management system that met the requirements of the standard. We also had to demonstrate our ability to provide products and services that meet customer, legal and regulatory requirements.
Theron electric vehicles are more energy-efficient than internal combustion vehicles. This means they can travel more kilometers with the same amount of energy stored in their battery.
We also have several scientific development partnerships with major Canadian entities. Theron vehicles are therefore tested on North American soil for the most extreme needs.
Zero emission vehicles do not emit harmful air pollutants such as carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, fine particles and nitrogen oxides, which significantly reduces air pollution and helps improve air quality in both urban and rural areas. As THERON quads are 100% electric, they emit no gasoline combustion residues.
Zero-emission vehicles offer greater efficiency and can help reduce air pollution and slow global warming. Save money by charging your battery and reducing vehicle maintenance.
New public charging stations are being made available every day, and there are probably some in your area. These charging stations are available at a variety of public locations such as truck stops, municipal parking lots, hotels and resorts, government offices and other businesses. We recommend that you search the Internet for charging stations on your itinerary before going out.
A 7" display under the handlebars keeps you precisely informed about charging information. The Reever's computer system accumulates a wealth of information to enable you to ride safely and with ease when it comes to energy management.
You can charge your Reever at a level 1 (110v socket) or level 2 (j1772) terminal.
A multitude of factors affect the range of an electric vehicle, just as do the fuel consumption of a combustion vehicle. Speed, acceleration, number of starts and stops, ambient air temperature, altitude changes, load weight and number of passengers are all factors that influence the range of an electric vehicle. The combination of these factors, as you travel from one point to another, defines the profile of your journey.
Before setting off, take a moment to check the tire pressure and belt tension. If you plan to carry luggage, take only what you need. If you exceed the payload limit, it's normal for the vehicle's range to be reduced. It's important to consider if the second seat is occupied by a passenger, as this person also counts towards your vehicle's total load.
If you've never driven a Theron quad before, take the time to try it out slowly and get used to driving it. Take a moment to familiarize yourself with the Reever software and navigation controls. You can try out the different driving modes to adapt to any situation.
Planning your stops will help the quad's autonomy and if you have the opportunity, plugging in when you do is a good habit to develop. Most resorts and rest stops now have charging stations.
The gradient of the trail you choose will greatly influence your autonomy. If your destinations are long-distance, choose the most regular and comfortable trail to get there. You'll save a considerable amount of battery life.
Keep an eye on the weather before you go out. Warmer weather, wind velocity and dry roads will greatly enhance the extent of your travels.
Une fois rechargé, il n’est pas nécessaire de débrancher le câble de recharge. Le système de gestion de la batterie s’occupera de maintenir la batterie dans la meilleure condition possible.
We have developed a warming device for winter use. Below 32°F (0°C), the battery warmer will activate until the battery temperature rises above 32°F (0°C), allowing charging to begin.
Each battery contains a Battery Management System (BMS) which monitors the condition of the battery cells and optimizes the charging process to deliver the highest performance, longest autonomy and longest battery life. The BMS protects the battery with safety interlocks.
These interlocks control certain operations that could damage the battery. The BMS also monitors the battery for a range of predefined conditions, then acts based on these conditions. To prevent battery damage, the BMS will prevent the charger from charging the battery at temperatures below 32°F (0°C). The battery heating system will then be activated, enabling the battery to charge within 30 minutes. As long as the battery is kept above the 30% state-of-charge during winter at temperatures above -4°F (-20°C), the battery will be protected from damage.
The BMS is sealed inside the battery and will not affect your regular use of the quad. As a rider, you don't have to worry about the BMS, as it does its job silently while you charge, ride and store your quad.
The rider may experience a reduction in range due to the effect of cold temperatures on the amount of energy released by the cells/battery. The colder the weather, the greater the effect. So, compared with operation at an ambient temperature of 80°F (27°C), moving to an ambient temperature of 30°F (-1°C) could result in a temporary reduction in range of up to 30%. In extreme cold, the quad may also experience a temporary reduction in power and, consequently, unattainable top speed.
We are, here, referring to the battery temperature, which is not the same as ambient temperature. Battery temperature must be above 23°F (-5°C). If the temperature is lower, the battery's heating system will activate to allow safe use of the battery's constitution. The battery must then be connected to the charger at a temperature above 32 °F (0 °C) as soon as you are done. If the temperature is lower than recommended for charging, the battery heating system will activate and slow down the charging of your Theron quad battery.
Operating the electric quad in warm temperatures will not result in noticeable changes in performance. However, the battery can’t withstand a temperature over 140°F (60°C), which is why, at that point the battery locks in, and won't let the quad run. Between this temperature and 109 °F (43 °C), the charger reduces its charging current to the battery, increasing charging time; accordingly, the warmer the ambient temperature, the greater the effect.
Also, above a battery temperature of 122°F (50°C), the Reever cannot be charged. You'll have to wait for the battery to cool down before reconnecting your Theron quad.

Keep storage temperature at or above -4°F (-20°C). Make sure you have a 60% state-of-charge before storage, and have access to the vehicle for a monthly check to ensure that the battery percentage does not drop below 30%. If the battery falls below 30%, simply recharge the vehicle to a minimum of 60%.
A well-maintained belt is a belt that will last! Keep dirt, grease, oil and debris away from the belt and sprockets. Drive belt tension should be checked and adjusted at the intervals specified in the maintenance schedule.
You can plug it into the charging station and forget about it. The Reever will go into standby mode and periodically draw power from the grid to maintain itself in optimal condition.
If you don't have a charging point close to the storage location, you can activate the Hibernation mode in the vehicle settings. We recommend that you leave your vehicle in a place sheltered from the elements, ideally heated and frost-free (>0°C). Then, when you're ready to use your Reever, you'll need to connect it to a charging station or other 12V power source.
